Library visit enhances students' understanding of Basic Law

More than 200 students from three primary and secondary schools visited the Basic Law Library today (January 19) to learn more about the Basic Law.
From King's College, C & W District St Anthony's School and Lai Chack Middle School, the students also toured an exhibition and attended a briefing by Constitutional Affairs Bureau (CAB) official on the Basic Law.
The visit, organized by CAB, aims to arouse students' interest in understanding more about the Basic Law through a variety of activities.
The library, co-organized by the Hong Kong SAR Government and Basic Law Institute, aims to encourage the public to acquire a detailed understanding of the Basic Law and provide reference materials for the study of the Basic Law and constitutional law. It is a specialized reference library with about 8000 items in its collection.
Members of the public are welcome to visit the library from 10am to 7pm Monday to Thursday; 10am to 9pm on Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and public holiday. It closes on New Year's Day, Chinese New Year's Day and the following two days, Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
It is situated on the 5th Floor of the City Hall Public Library, City Hall High Block, Edinburgh Place, Central. It has newly been opened since December 19.
