The Chairman of the People First Party, Mr James Soong, and his delegation transited through Hong Kong today (May 5) on a visit to the Mainland. On behalf of the HKSAR Government and the Acting Chief Executive, the Secretary for Constitutional Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam, and the Aide-de-Camp to the Acting Chief Executive greeted the delegation at the airport.
During the period from May 5 to 13, the People First Party delegation will visit Xi'an, Nanjing, Shanghai, Changsha, Xiangtan and Beijing.
A Government spokesman expressed the hope that, after the visit of Chairman Lien of Kuomintang to the Mainland, the visit by Chairman Soong would be equally successful and would help promote exchanges across the Taiwan Strait as well as contribute to the development of cross-strait relations.
