The Acting Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Miss Adeline Wong, this (January 15) evening attended an open forum organised by the Government to listen to public views on the Consultation Document on the Methods for Selecting the Chief Executive and for Forming the Legislative Council in 2012. Following is the transcript of her remarks (English portion) to the media after the forum:
Acting Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs: This is the second open forum that we have organised during the consultation period on the Consultation Document on the Methods for Selecting the Chief Executive and for Forming the Legislative Council in 2012. This evening, 23 participants in this open forum expressed their views. Some of them are supportive of the directions for consideration set out in the consultation document. Some others suggested other approaches in specific areas. We will consider all these views together with other submissions that we have received or are going to receive during the consultation period. Thank you.
