The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, will lead a delegation of government officials to Zhuhai on Monday (January 27) morning for the first meeting of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai Co-operation Working Group, and will proceed to Macau for a duty visit in the afternoon.
In Zhuhai, Mr Tam and the Mayor of Zhuhai, Mr He Ningka, will sign the "Letter of Intent to strengthen co-operation between Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and Zhuhai Municipal Government". They will also co-chair the first meeting of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai Co-operation Working Group, established under the Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-operation Joint Conference.
In the afternoon, Mr Tam will visit the Hengqin campus of the University of Macau and MICE (meetings, incentive travel, conventions and exhibitions) facilities, and meet the Chief-of-Cabinet of the Office of the Macau SAR Chief Executive, Mr Tam Chon Weng, to exchange views on Hong Kong and Macau co-operation. Mr Tam will return to Hong Kong in the evening on the same day.
During Mr Tam's absence, the Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah, will be the Acting Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs.
