The Chairman of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Cooperation and Promotion Council (ECCPC), Mr Charles Lee, will attend the opening ceremony of Hong Kong Week 2014 in Taipei as the officiating guest this Friday afternoon (October 17).
Co-organised by the Hong Kong-Taiwan Cultural Co-operation Committee and the Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office in Taiwan, Hong Kong Week 2014 aims to promote cultural exchanges between the two places and to let the Taiwan people experience the unique essence of Hong Kong folklore. The opening ceremony will be held on Friday at Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Taipei.
During his stay in Taipei, Mr Lee will also visit the Hong Kong Week 2014 exhibitions and lantern festival featuring Hong Kong's cultural folk traditions and local literary art.
The ECCPC is the communication platform for Hong Kong to take forward exchanges and co-operation with Taiwan on public policy matters. Hong Kong Week in Taiwan is an annual signature event of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Cultural Co-operation Committee, formed under the auspices of the ECCPC. Hong Kong Week 2014@Taipei with the theme of "Hong Kong Folklore‧Literary Footprints" will commence on October 17 in Taipei, leading Taiwan audiences to the core of Hong Kong culture to bring them closer to the collective hopes, memories and sentiments of Hong Kong people through a series of exhibitions and artistic programmes.
