Public Consultation on District Council Appointment System
On 20 February 2012, the Government published a Consultation Paper to provide an overview of district administration, to set out the Administration's inclination with regard to the remaining 68 appointed seats of the District Councils and to consult the public on how to abolish these 68 seats. The public consultation ended on 20 April 2012.
Having carefully considered the views received during the consultation period, the Government published the Consultation Report on District Council Appointment System. Copies of the Report are available at the District Offices from 27 June 2012. The Report has also been uploaded onto this website.
