Government's response to enquiries on Further Development of the Political Appointment System |
In response to media enquiries on the proposed creation of Under-Secretary and Political Assistant positions, a government spokesman said today (October 30): "The HKSAR Government has not invited chambers of commerce or organisations of other sectors to provide any name lists in relation to the proposal to further develop the Political Appointment System. Our next step is that we will seek the approval of the Legislative Council Establishment Subcommittee and Finance Committee for creation of the proposed Under-Secretary and Political Assistant positions. The Appointment Committee will commence operation, after the creation of the positions has been approved by the Legislative Council." Ends/Tuesday, October 30, 2007 |
