Response to media enquiries |
In response to media enquiries today (April 1), a Government spokesman said the following: “The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, met the Magistrate of the Taoyuan County, Dr Eric Liluan Chu, at Government House earlier today, and exchanged views on liaison between Hong Kong and Taiwan. “We highly value our exchanges with Taiwan on the economic and trade fronts as well as in other areas. In mid-April, we will be organising with Taichung City the first Hong Kong – Taiwan Inter-City Forum in Hong Kong. We expressed the hope that Magistrate Chu would lead a delegation to Hong Kong some time in the future to discuss issues including airport development and urban renewal. We believe this would help enhance our exchanges and relations with Taiwan.” Ends/Wednesday, April 1, 2009 |
