SCMA and SCED arrive in Taichung City (with photos)

At the invitation of the Taichung City Government, the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam, and the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mrs Rita Lau, are leading an SAR Government delegation on a three-day visit to Taichung City, starting today (March 5). The visit will focus on enhancing exchanges and co-operation with Taichung City on tourism matters. The delegation will visit some tourism facilities in central Taiwan. Opportunities will be taken to promote tourism in Hong Kong. A government spokesman said, "Through mutual visits with provinces and cities in Taiwan, the Government aims to further promote exchanges and interaction between the two places, thereby enhancing bilateral co-operation and friendship." The Hong Kong delegation also comprises the Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Miss Yvonne Choi; the Commissioner for Tourism, Mr Philip Yung; and representatives from the two bureaux. The HKSAR Government delegation attended the welcome dinner hosted by the Mayor of Taichung City, Mr Jason Hu, and met with a number of City Council Members, officials of the City Government and representatives of enterprises tonight (March 5).
