PSCMA to visit Beijing |
At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Ms Chang King-yiu, will lead a delegation of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to visit Beijing from December 3 to 5. While in Beijing, the 11-member delegation will meet the heads of various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation will also make courtesy calls on the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council. The Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs will return to Hong Kong on December 5, while the rest of the delegation will visit Fujian Province from December 5 to 7 and meet officials there. A spokesman for the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau today (December 2) said the visit is being conducted under the established arrangement for reciprocal visits between the HKSAR Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since 1999, officials from the HKSAR Government and those from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been conducting reciprocal visits once a year to enhance communication and mutual understanding.
