Establishment of Advisory Group on Eliminating Discrimination against Sexual Minorities |
The Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau announced today (June 10) the setting up of the Advisory Group on Eliminating Discrimination against Sexual Minorities, with Professor Fanny Cheung Mui-ching as Chairperson. Also appointed to the Advisory Group are 13 members from the academic and business sectors, the sexual minority community and the Legislative Council (LegCo). The appointments are for a period of two years. The membership of the Advisory Group is as follows:

Members The Advisory Group will advise the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs on matters relating to concerns about discrimination faced by sexual minorities in Hong Kong, notably the aspects and extent of discrimination faced by sexual minorities in Hong Kong, and the strategies and measures to tackle the problems identified with a view to eliminating discrimination and nurturing a culture of diversity, tolerance and mutual respect in the community. The Advisory Group will also take over the functions of the Sexual Minorities Forum. "The establishment of the Advisory Group reflects the Administration's determination in addressing the issue of discrimination faced by sexual minorities in Hong Kong.
