The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, visited Islands District this afternoon (September 21) to get a better understanding of the latest developments of the district. Mr Tam first met with members of the Islands District Council (IDC) and exchanged views with them on matters relating to the district. Accompanied by the District Officer (Islands), Mr Anthony Li, and the IDC Chairman, Mr Chow Yuk-tong, Mr Tam went to the Tung Chung New Development Ferry Pier and listened to a briefing by Planning Department officers on the topside development of the Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities Island of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to understand more about the work progress and facilities of the topside development. Mr Tam also visited a secondary school in the district and exchanged views with teachers and students there. He also learnt about the support rendered by the school to students from ethnic minorities.
