The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, visited Guangzhou today (October 23) to learn about the municipality's latest developments. Officials of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department also participated in the visit. During the visit, Mr Tam met with the Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality, Mr Cai Chaolin, and exchanged views with him on matters relating to co-operation between the two places. Mr Tam said that with the setting up of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the country's drive in pushing forward the Belt and Road Initiative, there would be great room for co-operation between Hong Kong and Guangzhou in future. Mr Tam also visited the Hong Kong Jockey Club Conghua Training Centre to update himself on the progress of the project, as well as a registered vegetable farm in Conghua which supplies agricultural products to Hong Kong to learn about the different aspects of co-operation between Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Mr Tam will return to Hong Kong tonight.
