Re-appointment of Chairman of Electoral Affairs Commission |
The Chief Executive has re-appointed Mr Justice Barnabas Fung Wah as the Chairman of the Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) for a term of five years with effect from August 17, 2017, to August 16, 2022. "We are pleased that Mr Justice Fung will continue to serve as the Chairman of the EAC. His experience in the EAC will be of great help to the Commission in accomplishing its future tasks," a Government spokesman said today (June 14). The EAC is an independent statutory body established under the Electoral Affairs Commission Ordinance. Its responsibilities include making recommendations on geographical constituency boundaries, and making regulations, guidelines and arrangements for the conduct of public elections and the registration of electors.
